Chaim Goldberg (March 20, 1917 - June 26, 2004) was a Polish artist, painter, sculptor, and engraver. He is known for being a chronicler of Jewishlife in the eastern European Polish villages (or Shtetl) where he was born, Kazimierz Dolny in eastern Poland; where hewitnessed life and the recurring artcolony atmosphere that he yearned forhimself, and later undertook the mission ofbeing a leading painter of Holocaust-eraart, which to the artist was seen as anobligation and art with a sense ofprofound mission. Following World War II he emigrated toIsrael and in 1967 to the United States, (heand his family became US citizens in 1973).
